House U is a project designed in Dubrovnik, Croatia to fulfill the expectancies of the clients, a pair, their adult children and their families. Spacious and functional, House U is split in two different living areas, one for the fogeys and another (accommodating two apartments) for the kids. Designed by 3LHD, a collaborative architectural studio, particularly all in favour of the combination of architecture, art and (urban) landscape, the home U is a soothing living space, the sum of 3 residential units. “The home is set on top of the plot with an excellent view of the Old City and Lokrum Island, while the lower part is meant for an excellent and luxurious garden.”The zen house integrates seamlessly into the rocky landscape, as a result of the ornamental stone cladding that surrounds the outside swimming pool and the home. A terrace is strategically placed between the 2 living areas, connecting the families through a shared outdoor space. Envisioned as an area for socialising, the terrace is a superb place to benefit from the company of the others and admire the superb green site. The inside is characterised by an easy design line and the furniture is custom made, underlining the presence of minimalism (colours and materials).
